General Meeting - January 21st

 Attend the next general meeting on Wednesday 21^st January at Redbridge Central Library (York Room) 5:30pm to 6:45pm. Take-away meals will be available for reps who pre-order it. You may be aware that the government is proposing an under-inflation and  unfunded 6.5% pay rise over three years for teachers which will result in real terms pay cut. It also is a major concern that the 1265 hours Directed Time Budget is under threat, with proposals to loosen the rules. Therefore, the NEU  has it has launched its "Save Education" campaign with an indicative ballot which opens on Saturday 28^th February 2026. 

As a district, we will be organising to ensure that we have a high turnout in the indicative ballot so that the message is clear to the government that educators will not be putting up with more and more cuts to education.

2. Hold a members meeting at your school. Please use the PowerPoint provided by email. Bill or Venda will be happy to attend your meeting. 

3. Ensure your membership list is up-to-date. They can be found at https://my.neu.org.uk/login (this is where members can update their own information) or https://neuactivate.com/login (this is where your ballot dashboard will later appear, so worth logging into)
